My city and Me (My Hometown)

When people hear of Tainan, they will think of “Food” but Tainan is not just about food, this incredible city has lots to offer. 

First, we can see Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan. It was the site of the main Dutch colony on the island, and after their defeat it became the country’s first capital under Chinese supervision. More than that, this amazing city was the capital of the country from 1662 to 1887. 

Nowadays, Tainan is known for its history, temples, traditional ,traditional lifestyles and traditional snack food. Marcus Garvey says, “ A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots”.

We are glad that J1 students could introduce Tainan city to Matt Keys from Australia.
